Goal: Configure your personal RoastLog settings to optimize your coffee roasting workflow and experience.

Prerequisites: You need an active RoastLog account with login credentials.

After logging into RoastLog, taking a few moments to personalize your settings will

help make the platform feel like home. The Settings page is where you can customize various aspects of your RoastLog experience to match your specific needs and preferences.

Here's how to make RoastLog work best for you:

  1. Navigate to Settings After logging in, click on your username in the top right corner and select "Settings" from the dropdown menu.

  2. Personalize Your Experience On the Settings page, you'll find several options you can customize:

    • Timezone: Set your local timezone to ensure all timestamps throughout RoastLog match your location.

    • Default location: Define your primary roasting location, which determines which coffee inventory is visible and available within the roast queue when you log into RoastLogger.

    • Default cupping form: Select which form you prefer as the default when recording cupping notes for your roasts.

    • Temperature scale: Choose whether you want roast profiles and events displayed in Celsius or Fahrenheit.

    • Mass scale: Select kilograms or pounds for displaying inventory and roast details.

    • Make roasts publicly visible: Enable this option if you want to share your roast profiles and related details with people outside your organization. (Note: This is an account setting. Please check with your organization before enabling this feature. By default, this option is disabled.)

  3. User Management If you have administrative rights, you can enable or disable access to different areas of the application for team members. The person who initially signed up your company for RoastLog is typically set up as the default Admin. For more details, refer to our article on permissions.

It's worth noting that most settings are personalized for each individual user. This means that if you prefer kilograms while your colleague prefers pounds, you can each set your own preference without affecting the other's experience in RoastLog.
