One of the most common questions we hear from new customers is: "Will RoastLog work with my roaster?" The short answer is almost certainly yes.

RoastLogger is compatible with virtually any commercial coffee roaster. We've yet to encounter a roaster we couldn't support — and if you don't see yours listed below, reach out. We'll figure it out together.

How RoastLogger Connects to Your Roaster

There are two ways RoastLogger connects to your roasting equipment:

Via Phidgets (recommended for most users)

Phidgets devices connect to standard thermocouples, which can be installed on any commercial roaster. This is our most universal option and works regardless of your roaster's make or model. If your roaster doesn't have a built-in digital connection, this is the way to go.

Via Direct Connection

Many modern roasters have built-in digital outputs that allow RoastLogger to connect directly — no additional hardware needed beyond a cable. The list of supported direct-connect roasters includes:

  • Coffed SR30

  • Coffee Tech

  • Diedrich

  • Loring

  • Primo

  • San Franciscan

  • Sivetz

  • Yoshan DY

Don't see your roaster? This list grows regularly. Reach out to us at support@roastlog.com or via chat — we can quickly determine the best way to get you connected.

For the Technically Inclined

RoastLogger supports direct connections via Modbus RTU (RS485) and Modbus TCP protocols. If your roaster supports either of these communication standards, it is very likely compatible with RoastLogger.

Not sure if your roaster supports Modbus? Contact your roaster manufacturer or reach out to us at support@roastlog.com — we're happy to help figure it out.
