Changing COG for an inventory item

Luke Damiani Oct 17, 2011 11:59AM PDT

How can I enter the original price paid for an inventory item after that item has been created? In the "edit" section for that item, it seems that I can only change quantity available, not the price, which in this case is $0.00, since I didn't enter it to begin with. Thanks.

Hi Luke,

So, here's how that works...

Any coffee that shows up on the main Inventory page in a Non Roasting Facility with a quantity of more than zero will let you edit the the price per pound on the edit page. The way to change the price for coffees that are in Roasting Facility, is through the Edit Move page:
1. Go to the main inventory page
2. Click the name of the coffee you want to edit
3. Using the chart, click the little circles on the Roasting Facility plot for any day where the quantity in inventory changed. Roasts, Moves and Manual Adjustments will show up under the chart.
4. If there's a move there, you can click it, bringing of the Edit Move page where you can edit the price per pound.

Now, the a big problem here is that the chart only shows the last two weeks. If the moves of the coffee whose price you want to change are older than that, we'll have to make that price change for you.

Yes, I know this is a problem. ;-)

So, if you need changes made that you can't make yourself, please let us know, for each coffee:
- the name of the coffee
- the price/lb you want it to have
We can add that for you going back to when the bean was originally entered.

Does that clear things up at all?

Cheers,
Ryan
